Alexander Queh
BY THE RIVERSIDE
By the riverside the sky seems gloomy
The thunder rolls
Unpredictable it appears
There he stands alone, just alone in confusion
Overwhelmed he became
He thought he could be heard by someone
When he shrieked
Instead, he heard an echo
He felt the chills
He stood idle
He stood helpless
Nearly dropped dead
But felt the unseen
By the riverside where invisible things occur
He tilts his head toward the east in disbelief
The invisible things happen he said – believe it!
They give solace to the hopeless eyes
UNPLEASANT RIDE
The mind is preoccupied, so unpromising
Deserted so long
Found wandering in the deep valley of decisions
Real pariah!
Too hard to hold on
Too thorny to swallow
Too hard to explain
Too difficult to understand
Yes, the forgotten ones
The powerful have become more powerful
The weak have become weaker
The wound is very deep—deeper than you thought
Signs of surrender
YOUR FOOTPRINT
Way, way back in the mud you walked in
Is your own footprint
The laugh you laughed exposed you
The walk you walked created doubts
They misunderstood you too
Sometimes, misinterpreted you
Your way united your enemy
Way back, your words ignite
Your self-assurance in your deeds
Weigh you deep down – down in the pool of water
By your footprint you’ve been found
By your footprint your true identity is revealed
